Our publications are recognized by the Israeli Ministry of Education and recommended by the Jewish Agency for Israel.

How We Began, How We Evolved

HebrewToday started its journey in 1984 as a family-owned business, publishing educational publications for the Israeli school system.

The founder is Yigal Tzadka, Editor-in-Chief. Yigal was born in Jerusalem in 1955 to an Orthodox Jewish family. In 1979, Yigal graduated from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem after having completed his military service in the Israel Defense Forces.

For the last 30 years, Yigal has been writing and editing publications both in Israel
and abroad.

2001

HebrewToday launched a new publication for Hebrew learners:
“Yanshuf Easy Hebrew Newspaper”. This bi-weekly newspaper has been a huge success since its first issue. The combination of easy Hebrew articles with a dictionary for the difficult words, accompanied by an optional audio CD and exercises has made the newspaper especially appealing for readers outside of Israel.

Many schools have found “Yanshuf” to be a highly effective teaching tool that engages students with the Hebrew language in particular and life in Israel in general.

2006

Following requests made by many of our readers and school subscribers,
HebrewToday launched Yanshuf’s sister publication,
an even more basic newspaper:
“Bereshit Easy Hebrew Newspaper for Beginners”.

Today

Today, HebrewToday is run by a dedicated team of professionals: Hebrew teachers, linguists and journalists, each contributing to the uncompromising quality of each and every issue.

Thousands of readers are enjoying the “Bereshit” and “Yanshuf” – from Hong Kong to Hungary, Boston to Botswana and scores of places in-between – whilst practicing and improving their Hebrew language skills.
